WHY FIGURENEST

Useful beats impressive.

Every result is paired with the method, assumptions, or context needed to read it responsibly. We make quiet, careful tools for everyday estimates and comparisons.

Clear by default

Plain labels, helpful context, and visible calculation methods.

Private inputs

Public calculator values are processed in your browser and never require an account.

Accessible anywhere

Keyboard-friendly controls and responsive layouts support desktop and mobile use.

Open to corrections

We review reported issues and update confirmed errors or unclear instructions.

TRANSPARENCY

How we calculate.

Numbers should not be a black box. We explain the formulas, units, assumptions, and limitations that shape each result.

Read our full methodology
  • Defined methods: Each tool starts with a stated formula or conversion relationship suited to a general estimate.
  • Input checks: Required, invalid, boundary, and unit-sensitive values are checked where the calculation needs them.
  • Useful rounding: Results are formatted for their context, so displayed values may be rounded from the underlying calculation.
  • Clear limits: Assumptions and omitted real-world factors explain when to verify an estimate elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions

Are FigureNest calculators free to use?
Yes. FigureNest calculators and converters are free to use without creating an account or crossing a paywall.
How do I calculate a loan payment with interest?
A fixed loan payment uses the amount borrowed, periodic interest rate, and number of payments. The result repays principal and interest over the chosen term, assuming a fixed rate and regular payments. Use the loan payment estimator
How does compound interest work?
Compound interest applies growth to the starting principal and to interest already earned. The rate, compounding frequency, time, and any contributions can all change the projected balance. Try the compound interest calculator
What should a mortgage payment estimate include?
Principal and interest come from the loan formula. A fuller housing estimate may also include property taxes, homeowners insurance, mortgage insurance, association dues, and maintenance when they apply. Estimate a mortgage payment
How do I find a percentage of a number?
Convert the percentage to a decimal and multiply it by the number: 20% of 80 is 0.20 × 80, or 16. Separate tools can compare percentage change or reverse a percentage. Open the percentage calculator
How does FigureNest check calculator results?
We compare displayed formulas with representative calculations, exercise ordinary and boundary inputs, check unit conversions and rounding, and explain important assumptions and limitations. These checks reduce avoidable errors but do not guarantee every result. Read the calculator methodology
Does FigureNest save the numbers I enter?
Public calculator inputs are processed in the browser and do not require an account. FigureNest may collect consent-controlled usage events, but those events do not include the values entered into calculator fields. Do not enter sensitive information. Read the privacy policy
